One Year Anniversary! Help Me To Improve This Website

01.03.2011 by Chris

One Year Shuffle Projects – The Blog

One Year Anniversary Shuffle Projects
My first post “For Swing Lovers” (in German) went live on 1st March 2010. This was the starting point of a new project.

At the beginning I thought I will publish most of the content in German and some in English – but it changed immediately, most of the posts are in English now. I enjoy having so many international visitors on the blog and I hope you consider my Swinglish as a style :-).

Redesign

I just accomplished one of my goals for this year (see “End-Of-Year-Review 2010“): last night I published the redesigned look of the website.

But the best design is useless if you don't have the right content.

I Need Your Help for Improvement

A want to provide a magazine type blog about swing culture that visitors really want to read. Today, I would like to take the next step and for that purpose I would like to ask you for your help to improve this website and its content!

Tell me…

  • what subjects are you interested in?
  • which questions should be answered?
  • what is/are your favourite post/s and why?
  • what are you missing so far?
  • if you would like to contribute a guest post!
  • just your honest opinion!

I'm looking forward to your feedback. Thank you for your contribution!

A Short Note by a Newly Minted Father

23.01.2011 by Chris

As you may have heard or read I'm now a father of a son, since one month to be precisely. His name is Sidney Miro and you can guess where we got the inspiration from…

Well, that's the reason why I'm not that active right now on this blog. I'm still far away from a daily routine, so it's pretty difficult to find enough time for oneself or let's say, to get one hour in a row to attend to something!

The series Song of the Week will be continued as usual: on Mondays I'll post a new one. And in about two weeks I'll be back with posts beside the series! Stay tuned.

In the meantime please check out the End-Of-Year Review 2010 in case you've missed that, you'll find a lot of interesting stuff.

Thank you for being a part of my community, I really appreciate your interest in Shuffle Projects!

PS. I just realised, this is my 100th post…

In March 2010, while temporarily living in Sydney Australia, I started Shuffle Projects, the website. Actually, I didn't have concrete plans where it will end up, I just had the idea about a swing blog and thought let's do it.

20.10.2010 by Chris

Hey Mister Jesse: Podcast for Swing DJs

Host Jesse Miner & Co-host Manu “Spuds” Smith are featuring my series “DJ Chrisbe's Song of the Week” in the October edition of “Hey Mr. Jesse” podcast. I feel honoured, thank you guys!

Hey Mister Jesse is a podcast for Swing DJs since 2006:

“Hey Mister Jesse's barbecue of tasty talk about swingin' jazz and blues. DJ Jesse Miner will serve up a platter of swingin' music that matters to dancers.

Check out the show every month to hear music, interviews, listener feedback and news about the music swing dancers love.”

Check out this month's episode #058!

New Domain Name: shuffleprojects.com

23.09.2010 by Chris

First of all, thank you for being a part of my community!

When I started this website, I had no idea that it will attract so many international visitors. Currently there are more than 600 per month on the website what is more than expected. At the end of the year I will post a summary about the visitors and the most popular posts.

The biggest group are the Swiss of course, because Shuffle Projects is based in Zurich and we are organising classes, workshops and events here.

But the main content on the website is considered for an international audience, that's why I have written most it in (Sw)English instead of German – which was also not my intention at the beginning.

Well, to give this website an even more international recognition, I have decided to change the domain name from go-shuffle.ch to shuffleprojects.com. Please modify your bookmarks!

On this occasion I would like to ask you for your help:

  • What kind of topics are you interested in?
  • What would you love to read about on shuffleprojects.com?

Please write your wishes and ideas in the comment section below or drop my a line. Thanks!
